Gender Predictors!

Carrying high or low?
I've been told that I'm carrying high - and I think I am! I would still be wearing my Silver jeans if not for my hips exploding in size.

Skin blemishes or clear skin?
I definitely have been breaking out like crazy.

Dry skin or soft as a baby's bottom?
I've always had really soft skin - no change there!

Wedding ring on a string - circle or back and forth?
Carter did this for me, and it definitely went back and forth! He was trippin'.

Baby's heart rate under 140 or above?
At my doctor's appointment a couple of weeks ago the heart rate was 144, so just barely above!

Craving sweets or salty?
Sweets! Hand over the chocolate!

Mayan myths - Age conceived + year conceived - Both # odd or even or one odd and one even?
20 + 2012 = both even!

Morning sickness or feeling good?
I didn't have any morning sickness whatsoever! I just had the one bout of yucky flu.

Happy or moody?
For the most part I'm pretty nice, but my mood swings.. Well, they're nasty. I'll admit.

Do you eat the ends of the bread or just the middle slices?
Just the middle slices for me, thanks! Carter can eat the butts!

Weight gain just in front or all around?
All around - I have a butt and hips now!

Colder feet than normal or same as before?
My feet are always cold.. Pregnancy hasn't changed that at all. Same as before.

Welp. That's a whole lotta pink. Looks like the 'old wives' think it's a girl!

What do you think we're having?!

How far along? 20 weeks!!! Halfway done!
Total weight gain: I'll know on Tuesday!
Maternity clothes? Yup. And I'm getting used to them. But I would love to get a maternity hoodie - anyone help me out?

Stretch marks? Getting worse.. Bio Oil every day! Ugh. But they're sooooo itchy.
Sleep: It comes and goes. I have good nights and bad nights.
Best moment this week: Probably just knowing that I'm halfway done! Not that being pregnant isn't great.. But I'd much rather not be!
Miss Anything? My back not aching.
Movement: Not a lot, but it usually happens in the middle of the night - lucky me.
Food cravings: Chinese food. Mostly sweet and sour chicken balls. But I had that yesterday! Sooooo tasty. And chocolate. Sweets. But mostly chocolate.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Too much bread upsets my stomach.
Gender: Fingers crossed we find out on Monday!!!!
Labor Signs: I experienced my first Braxton Hicks contractions yesterday.. We were walking around Walmart and all of a sudden I felt like I couldn't catch my breath and my stomach got really really tight and super hard and it was incredibly uncomfortable! I just kept walking and breathed through it (thanks to the advice from my good [pregnant] friend Sam!) and it lasted a couple of minutes, then was gone. But afterwards my stomach muscles felt like I had just done a hard workout at the gym or something. It happened again once we got home, but it wasn't anywhere near as uncomfortable - maybe because I knew what it was. I just feel like it's so early to be feeling that sort of thing, but my mom said she had her first contractions at 5 months too!

Symptoms: Same as always - mood swings, heartburn (I ate 4 Tums today! Yuck!), cravings (get more frequent and unusual as we go), and a serious lack of sleep.
Belly Button in or out? Still in. For now.
Wedding rings on or off? On!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!

Looking forward to: Monday!!!!!!! And/or Tuesday (if the tech won't tell me I have my first OB appointment on Tuesday anyway!).

20 weeks!
My cute countdown shirt :)

sooooOOOOoooo excited!

The Shower Botheration.

I'm writing this post in a desperate attempt to prove to my husband that I am not the only one who feels this way. If I am.. Well, I may need to get some professional help (joking).

I never stand in the shower with my face toward the water. Never. I HATE getting water on my face. The only time it's generally alright is when I'm swimming. Or washing my face. But when I wash my face, the water has to be uncomfortably cold, and I hold my breath the whole time I'm rinsing my face. It just gives me nasty goosebumps to get water on my face.

Carter, on the other hand, loves getting water on his face. He showers facing the water the whole time. It gives me chills just thinking about it. Ick.

The other thing I have with showering (with Carter, as we commonly do since our house runs short on hot water 90% of the time) is getting his soap suds on me. I know it's just soap, and I know it's not like the suds are carrying bacteria and dirt (quite the opposite, actually), but I can't stand it! When he has to rinse off, rather than just stepping past each other, I just squish myself up against the back of the shower, behind the water, to avoid getting soap suds on me.

AM I THE ONLY ONE!?

Back me up, people! I know I can't be the only one!

dix-neuf (is that right?)

How far along? 19 weeks.
Total weight gain: At least weeks' appointment I'd actually lost 3 pounds, so I guess we'll see what my OB says next week!
Maternity clothes? Basically all the time. Except my Lululemons. And that's just because I love them too much to replace them with generic maternity yoga pants.

Stretch marks? Hips and belly.
Sleep: Weeeeeeeird dreams. Like my dad's sister and my mom's cousin's son having a conversation in an outhouse that I overheard from my tent on a stage.
Best moment this week: Carter being the best baby daddy/husband ever. I had a not so good emotional week, but he took it in stride. Friday afternoon I was laying in bed crying (again) and he came and cuddled me, then got up and told me to get ready (since it was 2pm and I still hadn't brushed my teeth or my hair), so I forced myself to get dressed and head to the bathroom.. Only to hear the vacuum on! He was tackling my least favorite chore, and the one I'd been putting off since BEFORE Christmas. And this morning he brought me McDonald's breakfast! Such a sweetheart.
Miss Anything? Not being emotional! But I've started putting my emotions on lock down.. And then they explode out of me. So that sucks.
Movement: I can totally feel where the baby is all the time. Not like kicking or moving, but when it rolls. It's weird.
Food cravings: Still nothing really. Although I did eat a whole (small) bucket of sherbet this week.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Doing dishes, garbage, and leftovers.
Gender: January 28 we'll know! Hopefully!
Labor Signs: No.

Symptoms: Nothing really. Emotional. Heartburn.A couple of hot flashes!
Belly Button in or out? In. But it still looks funny.
Wedding rings on or off? On. But they occasionally get stuck.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy. But, like I said, sometimes my sadness just explodes out of me.

Looking forward to: Finding out if it's a girl or a boy!! I'm so anxious to start buying non-gender neutral baby things!

19+1

Saturday is a Special Day!

I should be cleaning up my house. We've been home for a week and the house has gone to crap. I have laundry to do, bottles to be picked up and recycled, boxes to be packed (since we're moving in 2 weeks -- who wants to help?!), and floors to be vacuumed. Not to mention I'm past due for a shower. I also have a couple of YW secretarial duties to take care of. But guess what I'm going to do today?

Nothing.
Nada.
Nope.
Zero.
Zilch.

Carter went off gun shopping with one of his buddies this morning, so I got out of bed and ate Toaster Strudels and a pear and drank some orange juice, and I have been stationary on my couch every since. Pinteresting, Facebooking, catching up on blogs, and watching TLC. I talked to my mom on the phone for a bit too.

Now it's time for me to sit my butt down in my office chair, print off some pictures we took over Christmas, and catch up on my scrapbooking and TV dramas! Or Country Strong. I haven't decided. I shall see what Netflix has for me.

As the song goes, "Saturday is a special day; it's the day we get ready for Sunday!"

Nope.
Saturday is the day Nicole stays in her PJs all day and scrapbooks. Until Carter gets home and gets my butt in gear.

Good luck, husband.

18!

How far along? 18 weeks.
Total weight gain: I've actually lost 3 pounds! Whaaaat?!
Maternity clothes? Mostly, apart from cardigans/sweaters and yoga pants (although I'm on the hunt for a pair of maternity yoga pants!!).

Stretch marks? Hips and belly.
Sleep: Good, but I feel like I could sleep for 15 hours straight again. Come back, energy!
Best moment this week: Hearing the baby's heartbeat! And possibly feeling the baby move for the first time! (I say possibly because I felt it last Saturday, and on Monday, but not since then.)
Miss Anything? My Silver jeans! And not being emotional.
Movement: A little bit!!!! So so soooo exciting.
Food cravings: Nope. Ummm. Actually. McDonalds hashbrowns. Every. Single. Morning.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.
Gender: January 28 we'll know! Hopefully!
Labor Signs: No.

Symptoms: Just hormones. Typical.
Belly Button in or out? In. But it looks funny.
Wedding rings on or off? On. But they occasionally get stuck.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy.

Looking forward to: Ultrasound!!!!!

17 weeks!

How far along? 17 weeks
Total weight gain: I still don't know. Don't judge me.
Maternity clothes? Yessir. It's easier than trying to squeeze into normal clothes.

Stretch marks? Hips and belly.
Sleep: Been good, but I've been waking up early.
Best moment this week: My family came home!
Miss Anything? Not wanting to cry at the drop of a hat. Literally. I dropped my hat and cried. (Jokes).
Movement: Not yet.. But I'm waiting very (im)patiently! (C'mon baby! Make mama happy!)
Food cravings: Nope.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Too much food.
Gender: I still think it's a girl!
Labor Signs: Nope.

Symptoms: Nothing, I think. Just mood swings which I'm sure Carter will say I had before I was pregnant.
Belly Button in or out? In still. Hopefully it stays that way. But I'm starting to thing that if it didn't I wouldn't even be mad.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time: It fluctuates.

Looking forward to: My much awaited prenatal appointment next week.

What up, baby belly?

13 Things

I have 13 resolutions/hopes for 2013.

1 - More regularly attend the temple. We are so blessed to have the temple only a couple of minutes from our home, but take it for granted.
2 - Be the best visiting teacher I can be.
3 - Spend more time outside.
4 - Spent more time reading the scriptures and less time reading trashy romance novels.
5 - Blog weekly (besides pregnancy updates).
6 - Keep a better budget.
7 - Continue on with weekly date nights!
8 - Keep taking care of my diabetes.
9 - Lose all the baby weight (obviously not coming into play for a couple more months).
10 - Take more pictures.
11 - Scrapbook said pictures.
12 - Finish the Book of Mormon.
13 - Be a great YW Secretary!
